In my ideal world, either both Shepard and Thane are dead or they’re both alive.
In the latter, what if they had children using some genetic tinkering? Would we get cute little human/drell hybrids?
Because they’d procreate like bunnies, and make Kolyat babysit all the little buggers.

So what if Thane had been captured by Cerberus during the Citadel coup, and then made into a phantom? Like..if you didn’t save Jack and you later encounter her in the Cerberus base...

In the airlock, no one spoke, no one moved to help her remove her armor. Not even EDI had the nerve to enforce standard protocol. Instead they stood there, soundless - save for Garrus’ nervous tinkering of his sniper rifle - as the decontamination shower washed over them. On the bridge, Garrus tactfully cleared the path before her, almost imperceptible shakes of the head deterring anyone from interrupting her silent trek up to captain’s quarters.
She didn’t want to think. Not here. She knew the details of the incident would spread amongst the crew, but dammit, she couldn’t break down in front of them. Especially not now.

I love how his outline blurs a little, like Shepard’s starting to hallucinate just after she smooches on him and then invites him up to her room…and he’s standing there with those fuck-me eyes, because she’s stripping in front of him. which is why his pose is so tense and almost predatory, what with his clenched fist…
I mean, that visual effect could be because he’s behind glass… but never mind that, this is just my weird headcanon for this picture.

I remember reading way way back about a leaked script, and how there was a mission on Kahje that involved saving a bunch of Hanar who were working on a cure for Kepral’s. Is my brain making things up again? Or was this actually a leaked plot point that got axed from the main game? Orrr could it be a possible DLC premise if it got axed from game???
Edit: And now I’m thinking, if this was a DLC, it would change a lot of the events in the game. Would this take place after the Citadel coup? If it was before, would Thane be well enough to actually take down Kai Leng? Does he still get stabbed but opt for the transplant/cure so that he doesn’t end up dying?
Okay, so the Thane romance is my second favorite. But isn’t it kind of weird that he tells you he’ll await you across the sea when Irikah will already be waiting for him? Whether you take the afterlife literally or not….
I don’t know. I just feel bad about it. Unless you Thanemancers are hoping for a good threesome.
I was thinking this too for a while, and then I realized this can’t be true. Thinking beyond the physical constraints, in the afterlife I believe the deceased person becomes an idea, more than just the spiritual extension of the person who died at the time they died. I imagine that in death, Thane would have returned to Irikah as she had known him in life - a man unchanged by vengeance, by ten years of battle sleep, and most of all, a man unchanged by Shepard. Irikah would have her version of Thane returning to her. This is heaven, after all - you wouldn’t want someone else’s love coming back to you.
The Thane that Shepard returns to in the afterlife would be the Thane she loved. And in her afterlife, she would have also gained back all that she had lost - her family on Mindoir, in my case, and Ashley, Mordin, etc, etc. That would be her heaven.
But a threesome would be awesome.
